A primary goal of Project Polaris is to provide practical and sustainable professional development to its partner schools. Program facilitators work alongside school administrators to build professional development initiatives that best serve the school’s objectives.
Educators learn an array of engaging activities rooted in Project Polaris’ unique pedagogy. These learned skills are easily adaptable to any classroom setting. This interactive workshop is meant to expand the teacher’s toolbox with just one visit.
Administrators choose individual teachers (ex: new teachers, teachers needing additional support, etc.) with whom a Project Polaris facilitator will collaborate. This focused development not only allows for the teacher to grow as an educator, but presents them an opportunity to take on a leadership role among peers.
Administrators select a small group of teachers with whom a Project Polaris facilitator will work for a determined period of time. The goal is to create a leadership unit that can not only create and facilitate Project Polaris strategies in their own classrooms, but can sustain and assist in furthering such strategies throughout the school when the facilitator is not present.
