Professional Development

A primary goal of Project Polaris is to provide practical and sustainable professional development to its partner schools. Program facilitators work alongside school administrators to build professional development initiatives that best serve the school’s objectives.

Professional Development Workshop

Educators learn an array of engaging activities rooted in Project Polaris’ unique pedagogy. These learned skills are easily adaptable to any classroom setting. This interactive workshop is meant to expand the teacher’s toolbox with just one visit.

Embedded Professional Development

Administrators choose individual teachers (ex: new teachers, teachers needing additional support, etc.) with whom a Project Polaris facilitator will collaborate. This focused development not only allows for the teacher to grow as an educator, but presents them an opportunity to take on a leadership role among peers.

Cohort Development

Administrators select a small group of teachers with whom a Project Polaris facilitator will work for a determined period of time. The goal is to create a leadership unit that can not only create and facilitate Project Polaris strategies in their own classrooms, but can sustain and assist in furthering such strategies throughout the school when the facilitator is not present.

Webinar: Theatre as a Bridge

How theatre can connect students to their learning, their peers and themselves
The professional networking and professional development for our teachers has been just as important as the learning strategies offered to our students through the Polaris Project. Any opportunity we can have to encourage teachers AND students to think "Outside of the Box" in order to explore new concepts for learning is a win in my book! This is exactly what Project Polaris offers to Norton City Schools.
